After seven hard weeks and a nerve-racking final show, Team Bruno have been voted the DanceX Champions and released their single on Monday 27th August.

Following the thrilling all-singing, all-dancing final on BBC ONE on Saturday August 25th Bruno was ecstatic to see his team win. “"I am so happy for them, they really deserve to win. They have so much talent and they are going to get even better in the future."

The Team Bruno contestants - Claire, Marie, Marcquelle, Phoenix and Rana – have won a record deal with Gut Records and will go on tour supporting R 'n' B star Rihanna on her UK tour. Following their victory the group were stunned and excited

“For the first time in my life I am speechless” said Marie, but Marcquelle found the words to describe his feelings “over the last few weeks there has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Now every drop has been worth it”. And when Phoenix thanked “every one who has voted for us over the last weeks, but particularly tonight”, Claire added “we will do everything we can to justify their faith in us and to prove that we were the worthy winners”. Rana “to have won this competition, to be releasing a single on Monday and to be performing at Wembley…..it shows that dreams really do come true.”

The group’s first single, entitled DanceX Winners “Dancing In Repeat” and produced by Reggie L’Roc (Kylie, Moloko), was released digitally on August 27th just two days after the final. The physical CD will be released on Monday September 3rd.

Just hours after winning the final Team Bruno took to the stage at London’s famous G.A.Y. nightclub to a rapturous reception.

The group have signed a recording contract with Gut Records and released their first single Dancing In Repeat (written by Oscar Gorres and Swedish popstar Danny Saucedo) as a digital download on August 27, 2007. It will be released as a CD single on September 3.

Claire, Marie, Marquelle, Phoenix and Rana now have to come up with a name for their group, record an album and prepare to support Rihanna on her upcoming UK tour.

The winners of BBC talent show DanceX have released their first single "Dancing In The Street" - it''s written by Oscar Gorres and Danny Saucedo, so it was probably a track that was proposed for Danny''s album.  It really isn''t that bad.  At least it isn''t a cover and it''s not cheesy.. kind of Liberty X sounding.  But on the other hand, they are going to need better songs if they want to last longer than five minutes.

The group have signed with Gut Records (CD single out next week) and they will be Rihanna''s support act on her UK tour.  They are going to need to come up with a name first though!

Winning group: Marie, Marquelle, Rana, Phoenix and Claire.

AFTER a gruelling seven weeks, Team Bruno have scooped the DanceX trophy and the chance to release a single and work with pop sensation Rihanna.

Claire, Marie, Marcquelle, Phoenix and Rana stormed to victory with sexy performances of I Can't Get No Satisfaction and Black or White on the BBC1 dance competition.

"I'm speechless, you can't put it into words," stunning Claire said.  "You still think it's a dress rehearsal. None of us in a million years thought we’d be here now.”

“The first two weeks when we didn’t win, we thought people had lost faith in us, so this is amazing,” Phoneix added.

And Marquelle told us: "All the blood, sweat and tears have been worth it."

The victory meant defeating rival Team Arlene, who have become close friends of the group after weeks of non-stop rehearsal.

“Performing at the beginning, when we were all performing together, was one of the best bits of the night,” Marquelle explained.

And Claire said: “We’d like to prove we’ve done the public proud, but we’re sure Arlene’s team will go onto amazing things as well.”

But even though the team insist there is good feeling between the two groups, rival team leader Arlene suggested at one point during the night that that the Team Bruno girls should practice their moves in front of a MIRROR.

“It was constructive criticism, and we’ll take it and work on it,” Rana explained

In fact, Marie admitted that the person who really made her squirm when watching some of the more sexy perfomances was her DAD.

“When we were at the Dominion, I thought: ‘Oh my God, my dad is in the audience!’ But you have to get into character, that’s what performing is all about,” she said.

The team, who will release their debut single, Dancing In Repeat, on digital release on Monday, can’t wait to work with pop superstar Rihanna.

Delighted Claire told us: “I’ve been to so many gigs at Wembley and we’re going to be on stage with everybody screaming at US!”

And Marquelle chipped in: “It is major, we had her on the show with her just standing in front of us – she is mega! We all had dreams of this which we’re now living.”

The team think their success shows that hard work and self-belief can pay off.

Claire, who was a dance novice before the show began, said: “You should go for anything, I’m living proof of that – I’ve entered a dance competition and won!”

Marquelle agreed, adding: “Just for anyone out there who ever had a dream, we’re living proof that dreams can come true.”
